After 14-15 months of banning exploiters and helping the Typical Games community as a moderator as well as supporting the Typical Games' games since 2015, it's finally time to let the cat out of the bag — I finally got my own pet in Epic Minigames!For those that aren't familiar with what I do as a staff member in Typical Games, I've been a Typical Games moderator since February 2022 and have been hard at work (banning exploiters, helping the community, etc.) ever since I was promoted to Moderator. With hard dedication comes with a cool reward, and with Zara's (Zarabelle) help, we both collaborated on a really cool pet named Ricky!Here's a picture of what it looks like:

Now you might be wondering what makes Ricky a special pet? Here are 4 fun facts about the cute flying dog!1. The dog was originally named Fluffles, but was later changed to Rikki and finally settled on Ricky.Fluffles was the first working name for the pet as a simple thought of the pet's name. What I didn't know was that Fluffles was also the love interest for Gromit from Wallace and Gromit, as pointed out by my friend, Yasjee! I originally intended to keep it as that for the final name.When it came to naming my pet, Zara had forgotten I had named the pet Fluffles a few weeks ago and suggested that I named it Rikki (a.k.a. my IRL main name).I decided to change it to Ricky as this was the most common name I got when people wrote down my name without clarifying how to spell the name, so I thought it would be pretty funny to keep it as that and asked Zara to name it as that as the final name for the pet.2. The flying dog was inspired by Cloudpuff from the latest generation of My Little Pony!Cloudpuff was the actual inspiration for making this pet possible! The dog is a fluffy, white, flying Pomeranian with a round body, short legs and tiny paws.The reason why I chose my pet to be inspired by Cloudpuff was my small obsession with the cute dog from My Little Pony: Tell Your Tale, My Little Pony: Make Your Mark & My Little Pony: A New Generation! The way it interacted with the ponies and its personality made me fall in love with the cute rounded dog immediately!Unrelated to this fun fact, but I also want to share that I do love and adore Isabelle from Animal Crossing! A really loveable cute dog that got me into the Animal Crossing franchise, including Animal Crossing: New Horizons, which I also play 😄 (it may or may not also have inspired the pet too hehe)3. My custom pet was originally going to be an alicorn pet 😮Yep, you heard that right! My custom pet was originally going to be an alicorn pet! The original idea of my pet was going to be a purple alicorn pet, much similar to Twilight Sparkle from My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic.On 27 January 2023, Sparkles the Flying Unicorn was added to Epic Minigames' game nights, which I was not aware that Zara was adding that pet to the game. With that addition, I knew that I had to change the idea of the pet. No hate to Zara for adding the flying unicorn pet though, I really like the pet!During one of my chats with one of my friends, we were talking about pets at one point and I brought up Cloudpuff during the conversation. After talking about it for a bit, I had the idea to pitch it to Zara and boom, Ricky the Flying Dog (official name is Ricky) was born!4. My pet was originally going to be similar to my inspiration.
My pet was originally going to be similar to Cloudpuff, with a rounded body remaining as the main design feature.Unfortunately, due to issues with the original design (which I don't blame in any way shape or form), I had to change the design to what the final product now looks like. I appreciate your dedication and hard work in making it work, Steel 🫡
